Frequently asked questions
How is cost control different from accounting?
Accounting records what has already happened. Cost control looks ahead: what the project will cost in the end, where it's overrunning, and what needs deciding now.
Do we need to install software or enter data?
No. You send us the paperwork (budget, contracts, invoices and payment approvals) and we handle all the cost control. You receive ready-to-use reports in Excel and PDF.
How often will we receive reports?
We'll suggest a reporting cycle and agree it with you. Most reports are monthly, and overrun alerts go out the moment an issue is spotted.
How is the forecast final cost calculated?
Forecast final cost = signed contracts + approved variations + the cash-flow spread. Trades not yet let are forecast from the budget and flagged as estimates. Manual adjustments are only made with a written justification.
Can you cover several projects at once?
Yes. Every report is available per project or as a portfolio view across all your projects.
